I'm Gloria. I'm an experienced SysAdmin who is passionate about security, privacy and getting stuff done. Growing up, I used to spend a lot of time playing Sega and being on our family's Macintosh Performa 6400, deducing where in the world was Carmen Sandiego (I LOVED that game!) and hanging out in Aol's chat rooms (remember those?). Then we switched to a Windows box, and I began spending all my adolescent free time browsing way too many Angelfire and Tripod sites. I built my first website, a Lord of the Rings fan site, when I was 17 (with hosting-no Tripod!), and have been fascinated by the Internet's ability to connect us ever since.
I've had some twists and turns in my career since then, but somehow I always end up back behind a computer, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I really love InfoSec because I like the intellectual challenge of it, the creativity involved and the fact that it's like a real-life detective game.
In my spare time, I watch the anime Bleach, read Lord of the Rings and put together jigsaw puzzles.
In case you're wondering, I'm skilled in the following technologies:
Systems Administration/InfoSec: Linux RHEL/CentOS, Bash, Vim, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 R2, VMware ESXi 5.x, vSphere 5.x, Veeam Backup & Replication, IIS 7, SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, Wireshark, Nmap, TCP/IP, Routing & Switching
