I'm Gloria. I'm an experienced DevOps Engineer who is passionate about automation, privacy and getting stuff done. Growing up, I used to spend a lot of time playing Sega and being on our family's Macintosh Performa 6400, deducing where in the world was Carmen Sandiego (I LOVED that game!) and hanging out in Aol's chat rooms (remember those?). Then we switched to a Windows box, and I began spending all my adolescent free time browsing way too many Angelfire and Tripod sites. I built my first website, a Lord of the Rings fan site, when I was 17 (with hosting-no Tripod!), and have been fascinated by the Internet's ability to connect us ever since.
I've had some twists and turns in my career since then, but somehow I always end up back behind a computer, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I really love automation because I like the intellectual challenge of it and the creativity involved. More recently, I've become interested in blockchain technologies and am currently learning to develop Ethereum smart contracts.
In my spare time, I watch the anime Bleach, read Lord of the Rings and put together jigsaw puzzles.
In case you're wondering, I'm skilled in the following technologies:
DevOps: Jenkins, Ansible, Git, some Docker, CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, JIRA
Site Reliability Engineering: Nagios, New Relic, Sumologic, Cloudwatch, PagerDuty, ServiceNow
Linux System Administration: CentOS, Amazon Linux, Bash
Languages: Python, Ansible, Jenkins Job DSL, Bash, Cloudformation templates
Hobbies: Blockchain, CryptoCurrencies, beginning Solidity/Ethereum development
